Hi all, i'm a new member here - had trouble activating my account here but eventually, after a month of trying, a tech support gentleman emailed me and "activated" it for me.

i am a long time watch enthusiast but they have been almost entirely mechanical watches.

i've only had one Omega Speedsonic for a long time, but rarely wore it because i never learned to open it up and change the battery myself. it was a hassle to bring it up to a watchmaker to change batteries, because i hardly ever wore it and the battery would go dead by the time i want to wear it again in my rotation.

however, recently, i got interested in Beta 21, Omega f300, Bulova 50th anniversary Spaceview, etc.

hope to meet some nice and knowledgeable fellow forum members here!

My welcome to WTF as well. Here are a couple of my f300 watches. For a splendid discussion of the evolution of the movement go to the web site of Rob Berkavicious The Accutron Watch Page. It was Rob who coined the often repeated phrase "Rolls Royce" of tuning fork movements in describing the ESA 9162.
