I've tried messaging the seller a few times to ask for more pictures. I even messaged him when his first try at selling this prototype failed. I got his telephone number, but I am a bit skeptical of calling him. I don't have $20 grand to swing, but it would be nice to at least see better pictures.

Bad pictures and a lot of missing parts. Maybe $1k for a hardcore Accutron collector. $20k, I don't know ...

That was my thought on price Daniel. From my brief messages with the seller they are in no hurry to sell it. They think it's a retirement goldmine so I doubt they will list it for what it would actually sell for. Regardless, it is an interesting prototype watch.

For that price, I think a Platinum Accutron might be a wiser investment. Just Sayin!

Piker still has one on his site for $16000. Been there for a few years. I wonder what fair-market value is. $15K? I guess if I had $15K burning a hole in my pocket it would be cool to have that one and be the only kid on my block. You can easily spend that much on new watches (Pateks etc) that lose 50% out the door. If you bought a Platinum Accutron for the right price you could always sell it for at least what you paid for it (or pretty close). Frankly, there are not many "new" high-end watches that I like or make me stop and stare. The only new watch I really like is the new Chanel J-12 (38mm - in white - of course) that comes out at the end of May.

That's a very interesting movement. The pawl finger looks to be at a position almost 180 degrees from the index finger, can't figure out how that works, or maybe it's just lying on the movement there somehow? Lots of missing parts there that I'd love to see. I'd be in at maybe $500... maybe.

Only other platinum accutron, besides Pikers, is with unwind in time, jarett harkness collection. Quite the pricetag. I bet it is heavy like wearing chainmail on your arm. There is rare, and then there is practically mooing ultra rare. I think a platinum falls in the ultra rare category.
