Keep any parts that are stainless. Anything you send will get plated. If the caseback is like a 14kGF astronaut where the back is plated and the battery hatch is stainless, then you would need to disassemble it further.

Also, I have a 14K YG 214 case for refinish to send, do I send the SS locking ring for the back or just keep it and send the case and back?

    Thanks!Attachment 213253
First. I wouldn't worry about dismantling the bracelet. It would be kind of dumb to have a good looking end lug and a nasty looking clasp. Just send the entire bracelet for restoration.

Second. If the watch case was Solid gold or just GF and maybe a stainless combo you send the entire case & caseback and locking ring to them. Again, it would look kind of weird to have a restored case and a nasty looking lock ring. I sent all my watches to them with (case/caseback/locking ring/setting stem/battery hatch cover). Those are all part of the complete watch, thus all need to be restored together, minus the movement & crystal of coarse.

This is a 18kt Gold case I sent them . Notice how nice the Stainless locking ring looks. They are aware its stainless and treat it as such. Same as your stainless caseback. That will be restored like they do all Stainless parts. Stainless parts will not be plated.

SM2, you answered both my questions! Thank you!

I was going to send you a PM, but this is good info for the thread.

Oh nice. I didn't know they did stainless parts like that.
