Default First watch purchase - TAG vs. Longines

Purchasing my first mid-range automatic watch, and deciding between a TAG carrera dual time (CARRERA Calibre 7 Twin Time Automatic Watch 41 mm Silver Alligator skin bracelet | TAG Heuer) and the Longines master chrono (The Longines Master Collection - Longines - L2.669.4.78.3).

The only other watch I own is black & black, and as such I use it only for black tie events. Looking for a versatile second piece, and my personal opinion is the TAG is slightly more versatile than the Longines given the basic vs. chrono complications. My slight concerns are the worse water resistance on the Longines and I've heard the TAG uses a plastic movement holder. Any help you guys could give is appreciated.

Worse water resistance only comes into effect if you're actually diving. Do you actually dive?

    I say Longines.

It's a quality watch that not every one has. I like it's rather storied history, too.

When I think of Tag, I think of polo-shirted, khaki-clad pretty boys that live off mom and dad's money.

It's been almost 3 weeks sine the OP asked the question. Since he/she hasn't posted back I'm not sure its worth offering more suggestions? But, for my 2c the Longines looks nicer. (and I can't find a pic of a 'silver' twin time. I could find black, white, and slate. Maybe my definition of silver is a bit odd?

Owned a Carrera Twin Time years ago - and I'd still own it if I didn't have my Breitling.
