The 1928 Illinois Beau Brummel...

First of all, there are several "Beau" Illinois:
Beau Brummel
Beau Royal and
Beau Brummel/Viking
Beau Monde/Beau Geste (Thanks Rick!)

I will get into them one Spotlight at a time...

Fred Friedberg simplifies this by stating:

"Regardless of the Bezel Engraving (Beau Brummel/Royal)
If the watch has 17, 19, or 21 jewels (sub 6 or 9)
Then is was called a Beau Brummel.
A 15 Jeweled movement... A Beau Royal."

Here are 3 examples of the Beau Brummel...

All of them have the very cool
"Southwestern Indian Motif" Bezel

They also came in a "Rope-like pattern"
and Plain Bezel Variations

Here is a

Hi G,

I'm looking in my book and I see a c. 1933 Beau Geste with an embossed bezel and an "X" on the dial. More of a crosshair type x than a font X but I'm curious if you have one? Also, what is the rarity?

I'm really starting to see why you love Illinois so much.
