Looking for suggestions for thread colors. I have waxed linen in off white but was thinking some other non-standard colors might be fun...

I don't know how active GatorMike is these days..he hasn't posted since mid-March.
The Tandy Leather company has been supplying leather hobbyists for decades. They probably stock just about everything you'll need...leathers, stitching, needles and tools, hardware, etc. You should check out their website.
Another place to possibly try is an arts and crafts store, but try Tandy first.
