can someone recommend a good watch box for me?

I don't need a fancy box. I prefer a decent plain jane box.

I use something quite similar to the one above - I found these plain-Jane boxes on ebay under "watch storage boxes". Black leatherette-covered wood, 18 slots, the lid is flat for stacking and solid so there's no glass to get broken, the lid comes off for display purposes, and only about $20. My collection has grown since the photo below was taken...I'm waiting for them to show up again so that I can get two more.
If you don't want to wait, the one above is available right now at boxdisplays

That's cool...I totally understand.
It was just that frankly: I can't remember who I bought my cases from and he's not selling any on the bay at this particular time. The only ones right now that are like mine in plainness and low cost happen to be from this place overseas.

I just ordered this, it is much nicer than my filled up old box. The new box holds 8, will house my more expensive Lumtecs, the less expensive watches stay in my old box(10). Total capacity will be 18, leaving 4 more spots open for new watches. Carbon fiber and leather pillows. And a nice spot for tools and extra parts too. :cool1:

Worldofwatches has a 12 slot case for $55.00 and free shipping. See-through top, made of wood, looks decent.

You can also find the Invicta 3 or 8 slot dive cases, solid and well padded. They can be found on most of the discount watch sites.

Get a Pelican case...size based on you collection it's waterproof & travels anywhere. The 1150 model holds 6-8 watches depending on size...the "pick & pluck" foam insert, allows you to customize the case to your needs.

I travel with the smaller version 1030(2 watches) or 1040(3 watches)...fits in my mono pack for carry-on travel.

+1 for Pelican case. Either 1150 or 1200. I wear big watches 43-50mm, with few 38mm. 6-8 is easy to fit in 1150.

Look at the China auctions. For storage I don't need a fancy box so I ordered two 16dollar free of shipping 12 watch box. It does the job of storing watches dust free BUT small vintages fit but bigger models hit the top lid and it needs some cleaning before use.
