Help dating my Longines

Hi
I recently purchased a 9c gold Longines watch (with a nice box) at an auction. It runs very smoothly and keeps good time.

I am trying to date it, a watch shop was able to open the back and the serial number on the back of the case is 7297 1 68 .

Can anyone help me to date it & also confirm it is not a fake

Any other info on the watch would be great

David

Hi David.

Can't tell you for sure if it's fake or not unless you can post pictures of the movement and inside of the caseback. I can tell you that isn't the original finish on the dial - it's been repainted.

I'd bet it has a caliber 30L inside and is a very late 50's to mid/late 60's watch. If we can see the serial number on the movement (or you can tell us) we can tell you what year it was made.
