I picked this up on Amazon, on sale, a couple weeks ago. It's the first automatic I've bought that wasn't a cheapie (i.e. Invicta), and have been very happy with it. I do have a Hamilton automatic from the mid 80s that my dad got upon retirement; it's a nice, simple, watch, but needs some repair work. I'm very happy with the new Bulova: automatic Swiss movement, sapphire crystal and, to me, a very classy, elegant look without being gaudy, and only cost $320.

An auto chronograph is a lot of watch for $300! Enjoy:thumbup1:

Congrats, nice watch. What movement is inside?

I might be wrong but doesn't Bulova make its own movements, I read something a while ago about how their quartz movements are more accurate (hence the "accutron" name) ? Maybe someone here knows more.

Nice watch, but I prefer Invicta. Enjoy

I noticed now the Accutron is gone replaced with Bulova "Accutron-Swiss". Wondering if quality is the same? I love my Accutrons!

Must be the lack of proper medication.....

Nice watch but its not a "real" Bulova. Bulova went out of business in 1979, only the name remains...

Although the Bulova brand name is owned by Citizen (since 2008) it never went out of business and Bulova is still a Brand name. " Your term "REAL" only refers to your imagine as what Bulova 'USED" to look like as a company. Its still a company that produces Bulova watches, although with a modern twist. And by the way in 1979:

1979: The Tisch brothers soon diversified the Loews business, successfully venturing into a variety of areas as the 1960s and 1970s progressed. Loews acquired Lorillard, a tobacco company, in 1968; CNA Financial in 1974, and the Bulova Watch Company in 1979. Loews Corporation was the parent company of Bulova Watches until 2007, when it sold the company to Tokyo-based Citizen Holdings Co

OK, then, the original independent Bulova company ended in '79, it continued on in a corporate buyout situation however as you state.

Seems like a questionable purchase of the company by LOEWS considering the timing, after all, the glory years at Bulova were already over by 1979.

I didn't say it was a smart acquisition by Loews. Mergers and acquisitions happen all the time that make no sense (looking back) but the Bulova company didn't go out of business then and after years of tough times they have regained some footing.

I believe that Bulova auto Chronograph has the val 7750, great movement and the purchase price [emoji1376]. I got a bulova accuser Swiss wth a Unitas 6497-2, also a great movement.

Nice Bulova. BTW, Invicta makes some high quality, not inexpensive watches. I have some with Swiss ETA, as well as custom Seiko automatic movements.
