That looks to be a vintage ladies model. More than that I cannot say without my reference books in front of me, but some folks in the Vintage Rolex Forum should be able to help - I've moved the thread there.

Very nice watch, I cannot tell you too much about yours, but here is a picture of my wifes, It is from around 1910, they look similar, I believe yours is a little later. Wilsdorf moved to Geneva in 1919 so I believe it would have to be after that since yours is marked Swiss. I do not know your value, but ours was appraised for a lot more that you mentioned. Good luck, please let us know if you find out more

Default antspants is it possible to see a scan of the movement?

This can maybe help members spot more clues regarding your watch.

OK, tell us...will you restore this watch. If so, new face? Hands (although hands look good)?

    OK
Dating early Rolexes pre 1930ish, is, to say the least, erratic. Almost all do not have serial numbers at all.

Your watch is a 'unicorn' which was a trade name of Rolex for the Canadian market.
It is exactly right with usually NO Rolex name on the face (or movement)

@Antspants watch IS marked Rolex on the face, but to me the movement is more 1910
Dowling has a similar (face) watch in his book of 1913, but the movement is marked Rolex

I am not sure when Rolex always marked their watches 'swiss made' but for certain NOT always after 1919. Indeed Both Dowling shows, and I own a 1937 Rolex NOT marked 'swiss made', but it SURELY is.

Dowling shows watches from 1924 and 1937, and I have a 1929 that I guarantee is 100% correct, but yet no 'swiss made' (I also have another 1929 that IS marked Swiss Made.
I need to study this more.

BUT the best way to determine 'Antspants' watch is SURELY from the hallmark letter
I have a lot on hallmarks, but the one on this watch I guess is 'swiss'. The 'current' swiss assay mark is a a St Bernards Dog. I do not have the old ones.

I will try to do some research, but surely the only way we will determine the date is from the gold mark on the case.

    Hope that helps.

PS, I believe Wisdorf and his company moved out of London to Geneva in 1912.
1919 is the date the company changed its name to the 'Rolex Watch Company'. It was later changed to Montres Rolex, SA and Finally Rolex, SA

    Regards

What year did Rolex start making watches? I thought 1925. Obviously not. I learn a little more everyday WTF. I'm fairly new to Rolex so forgive my lack of knowledge.
