Default Help what model is this?

    Hello,
my father bought this watch several years ago. He thinks it's a Calatrava. How could I find out ? Is there a way to check the model, year and value? The back of the watch is covered by a sticker placed by the Pateck philippe service, should I remove it?
Thanks in advance for any hint.
    Cheers
    Francesco

No it's not the Calatrava. The Calatrava has a round case and dial with hour markers and sometimes numerals as well. If anything, your watch is a Golden Ellipse.

*Just go to Google Images (or whatever your favorite search engine is) and pore over ALL the Patek Philippe photos (or whatever brand you are interested in) until you find a match.

*For the year, you have to have the watch's 7-digit long serial #, which is engraved on the movement of the watch. Then just go online and look up "DATING A PATEK PHILIPPE"

*The sticker is not doing any harm (especially if that is real gold) and I would not worry about it. But if it bothers you, you can carefully remove it. Just don't scratch the metal back of the case.

    * For the value, we go to eBay> Advanced Search> Sold Listings> Search. This tells us what other buyers are willing to pay for a similar model.

Yep, that 'Ellipse' model has been around since 1968 so its been fairly popular. To ensure its a real Patek though, we would need to see pics of the movement and the inside/outside of the case back.

Hi Remove nothing, unless you can do without damaging it.
If you can remove keep it safely, and take a few photos PRIOR to removing it, and photos beside the dial of the watch
