    Same as Accutimer, I won't allow the teeth of an index wheel touch absolutely anything. I have a couple of Accutron index wheel holders, and to be on the safe side, I am in the habit of installing the index wheel into the holder under the stereoscope just to make sure the pivots go properly into the dimples. Never had a problem with a wheel getting damaged, and I use them for all the different types of index wheels.
