    Default Aquis Titan Chronograph

I've seen photos and conflicting specifications for the (2012?) Aquis Titan Chronograph, which is apparently a mix of tungsten and titanium. Has anyone bought one yet, or even tried one on? I note varying sizes on different sites. Some say 43 mm and some 46 mm. It's a beautiful looking watch and I'd love to know more.

Oh, dear! I hadn't realised this watch is not yet available. I heard it debuted at Baselworld last year and assumed it would be in the shops by now. Sorry, guys!http://www.watchtalkforums.info/foru.../1/sneaky2.gif

Thanks for the photos, Muttley. A blogger who's tried one on asks why Oris doesn't make it in human size! 46 mm is BIG.

I guess it's all relative. Personally, I was glad to see an increase over the standard Aquis line which is 43mm if I'm not mistaken. I'm just one of those guys who thinks dive watches should be big and chunky... but that's just me. But at 46mm, this chrono is still smaller than many of the other Oris more unique models: Col Moschin (49mm), Der Meitertaucher (49mm), Titan TT1 Chrono (avalable in 47mm), Great Barrier Reef (47mm), and Pro Diver (49mm?). Perhaps the company is trying to continue to offer a size to suit everyone's taste. I just can't hang with the current Aquis models in 43mm... just not thick and wide enough on my wrist.
    Current Collection
Rolex Yachtmaster (gold/ss with white dial), Omega Planet Ocean XL (orange/black on rubber), Oris Titan TT1 Chrono (red/black and all titanium), Oris Small Seconds (ss and blue on rubber), Glycine Lagunare 1000 Chrono (white dial on rubber)

Dave - thanks for answering that one. I didn't realise the GBR was 47mm - I've tried it on and it really didn't feel much bigger than my Diver Date. Once again, I suspect it's because of the tapering case, the specs sound bigger than it wears.
The same probably can't be said for the Aquis range, as they are the 'traditional' case shape, and may wear as big as they sound. I haven't had the opportunity to try one yet.
I kind of agree that dive watches look the real deal when they are a bit chunky, but I draw the line at the ProDiver. It just seems to look like a case on steroids but the dial itself doesn't look that big. Seems a bit out of proportion. The Carlos Coste and some of the other's mentioned in Dave's post are large but proportionally large to my eyes, and look just right .
All I can say is I'm glad Oris have so many different styles and sizes to please most of us (at least for the moment, I'm still not sure how long they'll keep the 'old' style case design. Maybe it will be relegated to Special Editions in the future, as they're unlikely to get rid of the manufacturing machinery, I would hope. Or perhaps they'll just continue to offer the parallel lines. Oh to be a fly on the wall at Oris.... probably just get sprayed )
