I'm writing to seek some expertise, or a justification to "pull the trigger"...
I can't seem to stop admiring the IWC Classic Pilot (IW371701) and IWC Pilot Mark XVI (3255-01).However I have no logical basis for an additional watch purchase (my current watches are below).
What I'm wondering is, What are the objective qualities that make a pilot watch different than a regular watch? And as a side question, What's the justification for spending a lot more on an IWC, when a Hamilton pilot with ETA movement can be had for a lot less?
There's something about holding the IWC, but I'm having a hard time justifying it to myself or my significant other!
Thanks.
(Current watches: Rolex Datejust, Zenith Elite, Tag Heuer Aquaracer, Tissot PR50)

. I have absolutely no reason to covet this watch over others, it just 'sings' to me, and that's all that really matters
