Default Accuracy of your Caliber 13 movement

I was curious what other are seeing on their Breitling's with the Cal 13 movement in it in seconds per day. My watch gains 5 seconds a day if it is on my wrist or on my winder. This is within COSC specs. I was just curious what other are getting out of their watches.

My newest B13 runs a little less than one (!!!) second a day fast. One of my others after recent overhaul from Busa is not quite that tight but close. My other B13's run between two and four seconds a day fast. So does my B12 and B22 Cosmo's. My SQ B-1 loses about a second every 4-6months. 001_smile:

Mechanical watches are a bit less accurate than quartz. However, it might be interesting to put that in perspective:

    1 99.99884%
    2 99.99769%
    3 99.99653%
    4 99.99537%
    5 99.99421%
    6 99.99306%

In other words, if your watch is gaining on average 5 seconds per day, it is 99.99421% accurate. Pretty remarkable if you ask me. We shouldn't forget how "good" even mechanical movements are in our watches. How often in your life will you actually require more precision than that?

I appreciate what you are saying. When you put it in the % accurate even a watch that is 20 seconds a day fast sounds great (99.97685185% accurate).. Since purchasing My Breitling Super Avenger with the Cal 13 I have purchased an Omega with the 2500 Co-Axial movement. This watch on my wrist gains less than 1 second a day. My Tag Heue Aquagaph runs at -2 seconds per day on my wrist (non COSC). I guess for the money that I spent for the Breitling that it could be regulated and probably be closer than +5 to 6 seconds a day. I need to take it to my jeweler and just have him check it and see it it is regulated properly in 6 positions. Stem down, stem right, stem up, stem left, dial up, and dial down. If there is a large discrepancy in the 6 positions I may send it in while it is still under the warranty. For the cost of shipping and the waiting time, I would have the peace of mind that it is running the best that it can be after being checked by a Breitling certified service center. I realize +5 to 6 seconds a day is great, I just purchased a Swiss Legend watch from World of Watches. It had an ETA 2824 movement in it. I asked my friend Alex at SWI to have it regulated before sending it to me. He included the test data sheet from SWI with the before and after test results. Rate before +009 after +003 s/day, Beat Error before 0.5 after 0.4 ms and Amplitude before 279 after 282 Deg. This timepiece is running less than 1.5 second slow in 4 days. I got a very lucky that the day that ETA built that 2824 movement nobody was asleep on the assembly line. LOL I am think that the Cal 13 (v7750) movement in my Breitling could be closer than it is. It is right on the outer limit of COSC specs. I know I am being neurotic and if I wanted something that was more accurate I should of purchased a watch with their super quartz technology.
I have so many timepieces that I will not miss the Breitling for the few months that it will be gone for having it checked, but in the back of my mind I will know that I did the best I could to make the timepiece the best it could be. I know I am crazy.....

My Navitimer runs at about +2 seconds a day and the positional stability is extremely good! With such a performance, I say Cheers and have some bubbly

    Kind regards,

My SuperOcean gains between 3 and 4 seconds per day. It's brand spankin' new so perhaps it may even settle down to +2 secs. in a month or so. Either way I can't be happier with this!
