    Default UTC Module

Alright, now that I am reasonably certain I am going to purchase the Emergency Mission referenced in my last post, my next question is in regards to the UTC module.

I know that the UTC module is no longer being produced, and they are only producing the co pilot module now. Can anyone tell me how long ago the UTC was discontinued, and is it possible to find them new at an AD, or would my time be better spent looking on the pre owned market?

I would prefer new, however if it is going to be a huge endeavor to find a new one, then I will not be completely heartbroken if I have to purchase one second hand.

    Thanks!

Have the AD you're buying the Emergency from try to find one. You can try pushing him by saying you won't buy the Emergency without it. May motivate him a bit more to try to find one. Also check with the AD to confirm if the co-pilot bracelet comes with the co-pilot module (for the price it should). I'm assuming so as it's needed, but have never gotten an answer. Either way it'll be needed as I do not believe you can attach the co-pilot to anything else.

It ain't cheap, $2,115. So I'd try to get a better price on that. I'd probably ask & wait for a 30% discount on the co-pilot, especially if you get it at the same time as the watch. Markup on the accessories is a little higher, so they have a bit more room. In fact you may be able to get a better overall deal getting both at once. After all, you're in essence buying 2 watches, so make them do the leg work finding one.

Default UTC on Co Pilot Bracelet

    Thanks for the input...

Just to clarify, if I find a UTC module, I will most likely have to purchase the co pilot bracelet, which most likely comes with a co pilot?

Once I remove the co pilot from the bracelet, I can attach the UTC module, and all is well?

Also, what is the market for mint condition co pilot modules? Would it be possible to re coup some of the money spent on the bracelet by selling the co pilot module, or do you think the depreciation would be so great that I would be just as well keeping the co pilot?

There's a lot of questions in there, so let me break them out. Keep in mind I'm not a co-pilot nor UTC module expert. Remember, this advise is worth what you paid for it

Thats my understanding, but I'd check with the AD to confirm the co-pilot comes with the bracelet, and that they're compatible between the UTC (ex. Breitling didn't change the pin config of the co-pilot from the UTC).

I'm assuming so, but I'm not sure. That goes back to my statement above having the AD verify that assumption with Breitling service.

No idea, they don't come up often. I saw one here awhile back for around $1,000 I think. Do a search on the sales forum to see if it's still available. Also check completed eBay auctions to see if any have sold.

Personally I think it'll be a hard sell. You can try, but I wouldn't hold my breath. And you'll pretty much be limited to buyers who already have one, since they'll need to get the bracelet as well. But worth a try. But I'd imagine you'll lose a pretty substantial amount.

    Default Thanks!

Thanks for breaking that down for me. I will talk to the AD and see what they have to say.

I may end up simply going with the co pilot, although I thing with the analog dials on the face of the Emergency Mission, an analog UTC module on the bracelet would look great!

Anyway, thanks again, I will report back with what I find..
