So, a guy at my office was admiring my new PAM "0" and mentioned that he also owned a Panerai. I was thinking "cool, a fellow watch enthusiast, now ill have somthing to chat about with this guy when were in the elevator at least three days a week". The next day he shows up with what appears to be from a short distance a very nice looking PAM 090! He offered to let me check it out and throw it on my wrist so I began to give it a quick once over......i will say that i am no expert, but a few things stuck out right away that didn't seem legit. First, there was no serial number on the case back, as in the letter proceeded by 8 numbers divided by a slash in a small rectangular box. Next I noticed that the crown seemed just a tad bit loose, not tight and precise like mine. and the third thing was that the date function appeared to be controlled by a recessed push button at the 7 o'clock position on the side of the case. Would it be safe to assume that this watch was a replica or are there some PAM's that do not have the serial # in that format and that do have a push button date function??
My experience is that if it looks like a duck and smells like one......
regardless i said nothing and just walked away basking in the glory that is my genuine PAM 000.
Thoughts??
