Considering the missing central hour hand...
Is it matter of time to be accustomed?
The design of "The Master Diver" (Der Meistertaucher) is very nice indeed, and is calling to be placed in the wishlist...

I hope some of the owners can chip in here with personal experience, but I've often wondered the same thing. Being used to the traditional 2 hand dial it looks a bit strange at first, but after looking at in pictures for a while it seems to 'click' and look fine. I suspect within a very short time of putting on the watch it will seem second nature to read the time quickly.

Getting accustomed to the Oris regulateur takes about 3 minutes or less.
Telling the time is instantly intuitive considering this is a dive watch and the big minute hand is designed to give a diver an instant record of how long he has been on a dive. The only instance when it may be difficult to tell the time is when the hour and minute hand overlap each other (about 3:16 to 3:21).
All in all it is a great watch and I have received various complements on it when my friends and family see it.
I just switched mine to the rubber strap this morning.:D

My pleasure muttley. The vanilla smell from the rubber strap really eminates well. I can smell it as I am sitting here typing.
I wonder how long the good smell with endure?![]()
not a bother at all. the highlighted minute hand usually sticks out most, so you just find the hour and you'll already know the minutes. i love everything about this watch. i've had it for 7 years, i think, i've worn it out to sea, scuba diving, thru freezing ireland and the deserts of oklahoma (ok, they're not THAT extreme, but it's seen a lot of bad weather) and it's never missed a beat. to prove a point, i froze it solid in a cup of water and then boiled it free. it stayed perfectly on time. it's legible at night, it looks pure class, and it can take the worst kinds of beatings. i'd put it up against anything out there. i wouldn't dare put my dainty Omega in the freezer. and you ever see anyone boil their Rolex out of a block of ice? i rest my case. :)
