Default Question about my new PAM 111

Forgive the noob question, but I have to ask.I have a PAM 111 that I recently purchased. Tonight, I inspected it in my dresser and noticed it was stopped. I picked it up to wind it and the second hand began to move.
I was under the impression that a manuel watch needed to be hand wound and an automatic watch operates by self winding.
Can someone clarify and explain why the pam 111 movement began to operate once I picked it up and began to move it around a bit?
    Thanks,

It's normal.....even on a manual movement a small inertia caused by shaking the watch can get the balance
and balance spring (hence the second hand) to move, but it would be for only a very short period of time time.

Thanks watchfan. It only moved the second hand and just for about 15 seconds.
    Thanks for the information.
