    Default Zenith Daytona- Good Price?

A white face 1997 U serial number Zenith 16520 Daytona. All material including boxes, tags, warranty, booklets and even the original sales receipt. Hologram still on watch. One owner watch collector that wore the watch approx. 1/2 dozen times. Bought new in 1999 and just serviced.
    $10,250. What do you think.?

Impossible to tell without seeing the watch. Me? I'd probably rather have a modern Daytona vs. the Zenith one, and for less money. But that's just my preference.

Dont fall for the hype that zenith = collectors item...there were literally thousands made they are not rare just look on eBay and second Rolex choose to change it because they had a better option...called continual improvement. Buy what screems at you and you'll love it. Forget the zenith bit.I think for this price you can buy a lot newer ... You are being charged for Zenith and IMHO I wouldn't id go newer. Cheers John.

John, I am sure you probably know more about this than I do, so no offense is made in my comment. First I buy what I like, not how much it might be worth down the road. I like the Zenith sub dial arrangement better and there really is no disputing the quality of the Zenith movement. I did look on Ebay and there are 48 Zenith Daytonas and over 1400 newer Rolex Daytonas for sale. Over on some other forums, the choice is about evenly split with what seems like a greater number in favor of the Zenith. Either one is a great choice, that is why there is chocolate and vanilla. I bought the Zenith.

Absolutely agree. You can not go wrong with either one as a long lasting great watch you can enjoy for years.

If you like it, that's the ONLY thing that matters. ANd you're right, Zenith is a top-quality movement. I've had one (sold it and regretted it) and the wife still owns one. Great movement & company.
