    Default Blue Yachtmaster

    Any nickname yet?

    Hey guys,

Forgive me if I'm reposting a topic already discussed (did a search). I've been barely concentrating on the newest BaselWorld models, but when I heard about a blue Yachtmaster (not the large vii) I had to do a search to see what the hype was about.

Here is the "official Rolex style shot". Not enough to see what this blue really looks like. ie. Does it captivate like the green Sub HULK did to me when I saw it in the flesh?

Well wait no further. Here is a live pic of it taken by my local AD that went to Baselworld back in April. regards

Personally I think it's by far the BEST looking new sport model is Y E A R S from Rolex. Hands down my favorite and even better on the blue than the TT Sub in my opinion. I'd own one in a heartbeat.

In fact, depending on the MSRP, this watch has the potential to make me break my "no more new Rolex's" policy I have with myself..

And as bad as I know that 'live' picture is compared to real life due to lighting, I love how that sunburst dial is reflecting the light. I can't wait to see it in person!

Brando-O: Good looking watch for sure. Between my wife's love of the platinum dialed Yacht-Master, and my own preference for the blue dial on the 16613, I'm not sure this one will find a place in my collection. But it's nice to be sure.

How about you? How do you like it compared to your own platinum YM based on what you've seen?

The Platty YM is for sure my grail Rolex! The GV is losing its lustre on the rotation, but I may pull it out tonight for a round of Poker.

I hear you Scott. The "Sky" pilot model that was all over facebook awhile ago just made my head shake. Some of the previous releases also didn't appeal to me because of the monster size trend (ie DSSD and YMii). Even the DDii still seems unproportioned at times when I see it.

My wife loves the YM as well. And with her surrounded by Subs, Daytonas and Panerais of her co-workers, she does notice intricate details, once I point them out to her. As I was trying to sell her the finer points of a 390 over a 372 based on my wrist size, lol.

Prior to this blue sunburst model being revealed. My favourite dials have been the Champagne Sunburst (ie DD) and the Rhodium sunburst (DJ) which my visiting cousin from Toronto was wearing yesterday.

In bright sunlight these dials just bling. That is what I love about my 16622! In low light conditions, it's rather 'Ugh' and just blends in with the bezel and brushed parts of the case/bracelet. If my grail YM is on a rating contest with this one, like Scott, I'm gravitating to this one in a heart beat as well!
