Default slack in the minute hand of my explorer 114279

I have recently purchased an Explorer114270 that has had little ,if almost no use. its a "D" series still with the green caseback sticker in place . But when I try to set the time by the atomic clock and get the minute hand just right there seems to be a little "slack" which sometimes makes it hard to be exact. Is that right? never remember that slack on my 14060M . its just a little annoying. Am I worrying over nothing or should I have it checked out?

The "play " in the time train is really just an accumulation of the small spaces between the teeth of the wheels . It it were any less than they may bind . If you end the setting proceedure in a forward motion it will generally stay that way .
