Very cool David... that is awesome!

After so many thousand hours of flying under my belt, I still fondly remember my very fist flight in a Cessna 172 and my very first solo flight also in a Cessna 172.

I am sure this memory will keep for a very long time....

Thank you for sharing and Cheers!

Good to see you here, Kevin !
It's amazing to think that pilots like you who sit behind controls
of Jumbo 747 started on Cessna 172 ;)

    =========================

This reminds me of a very interesting day in my life. This happened about 12 years ago:

A friend of a friend is an outstanding pilot who does aero-acrobatics.
One day he was taking us out for a free 1 hour flight above Tampa Bay
in a little 4-seater Cessna. Since my friend went him many times before,
he took the back seat and let me have a front seat. As we finished taxing
and were ready for take off the pilot told be to grab the wheel and mimic
exactly what he does so I would have an idea what he does in order to take off.

If I remember correctly, he told me that we will pull the wheel towards us once the
speedometer will show certain speed. We are running down the runway when he tells
me to gently pull the wheel towards me. I was SO involved that I was not even looking what
he was doing. I was focusing on listening to what he was saying and doing what I was told .

I pulled the wheel and we took off. As we just lifted off, I finally looked to
my right only to realize IN HORROR that he had both of his hands in his lap and I took off
and I was actually flying the plane, while he was grinning at me ear-to-ear
I know, I know.....this was pretty much illegal.....but it was one of the thrills of my lifetime ;)

That was perfectly legal Milos, he might be a Certified Flight instructor as well.
