I start with a Submariner date, N serial made in 1991. Put a
maxi dial and the fat minute hand.
Now I've just put a GMTIIc crystal with anti reflective cyclop.
Wow, what a great upgrade. Now it's really easy to see the date.

Jocke - what a great idea!! I just picked up this Y serial Sub and may try the same thing. I recently spent a couple of weeks with the new WG blue ceramic bezel Submariner, and really liked the new cyclops.
So the GMT II crystal readily fits on the 16610 without adjustment/modification?
Here's my new Sub:
And here's the WG Sub:

not sure if Jocke's photo was in a lucky position or photoshopped but from photos the
WG SUB still has a lot of glare compare to Jockes' photo.

I agree! I wonder how much it would be to get an LV dial and hands for my 16610? Milos - I'd say if you're looking to duplicate this look, it would be cheaper to get a 16610 and source the dial and hands of an LV than it would be to start with an LV.
Used LV - 4500 - 5000.00
16610 bezel insert - 100.00
Used 16610 - 3800 - 40000
LV dial and hands - 300-400??
