Default This Is CertainlyWatch Related - Rolex 24 at Daytona

For the second year in a row, I went to Daytona International Speedway in Florida for the Rolex 24. This year was the 50th anniversary of the race.

I have a lot of photos that I'm unhappy with, but also a lot of photos that I am happy with.

    A sampling of the latter:

    Thanks!

I don't shoot a lot of auto racing, so I wasn't sure how well I'd do on the whole "panning" thing. I'm pretty happy with the results, though.

I'm hoping to shoot in Watkins Glen and Lime Rock this year, as well.

Definitely some nice shots there! I love the "flameout" - everything really works on that one for me...

The only cars I saw doing that were the Mazdas:

Maybe the fuel "doesn't agree with their tank"

Sorry, small "Cars" reference there...had to say it.

Hehehehe... I've never actually seen the movie.

It was the same thing last year. The Mazdas always flame out like that. I've never seen it from any other car...

    Thanks, John.

If you go, and aren't credentialed (I see relatively few credentialed photographers there), bring about a 12" high folding step stool. I'm 6'2", and this is just enough to get my head and my lens (70-200mm f/2.8L) over the fence.

Best nine bucks I've ever spent.
