    Default 5960P vs 5970R

Hi guys. I have a bit of a dilemma. I'm planning to add another Patek to my collection and I have the opportunity to buy a pre owned 5960P or a 5970R. I like them both, but obviously can only get one. I was wondering if anyone who owned either would give me some advice. Thank you.

I don't own either, but would have gotten the 5970 without doubt.

the 5960 is a good and nice watch

but the 5970 is 100 times more interesting

Not because the difference between annual and perpetual but the 5970 has a much more beautifull movement. much more beautifull !!
Also a manual wind is more interesting than an automatic

so, the 5960 is a super watch but the 5970 is in another league

I 100% agree with yours and the other members thoughts.

The 5960P is one of my favourite Patek pieces. But the 5970R is...................well just absolutely gorgeous

Look forward to seeing the photos

I went with the 5960P. Having the very first inhouse auto-chrono for Patek is a big deal. Also, the up/down indicator is a very nice touch. The layout of the dial is much easier and quicker to read. With all that said, the two watches are built for the same person but in a different mood. Anytime a red hand is present on a watch, it subdues its elegance, but Patek somehow managed to leave its sleekness. I personally would rather have the flyback feature than most any other complication. And again, fully in-house....

    5970R for me.

If you could stretch to a 5970P - well that would really be a wow.

If you are going to stretch, buy a 5004P and get it over with :)
