There are different meanings for depth rating, like 100m being good for swimming and snorkeling and 300m for SCUBA.
There is no real 120 or 60m rating in these descriptions, so I wondered if i can snorkel with mine.
I have actually sent them an email regarding that problem a year ago (after I bought mine) but never got an answer.
I avoid doing that but when sailing on a Hobie wave (small and very wet beach catamaran) once I forgot to change the watch before and nothing happened (as far as i know)

Im not sure what you mean? The 5712 is rated to be water resistant to 60m while the 5711 is rated to be water resistant to 120m by Patek.

    Really? Please show some respect.
Gets the shakes if no watch talk in a 24 hour period

TCB, thus far I am less than impressed with the snobbish attitude in some of your posts.
Just because you own PP watch, it does not entitle you to talk down to people (in case
    you did not know!).
Please consider yourself being publicly warned that this is not tolerated here.

I just purchased my first PP and it is a 5712G. My slightly early 55th birthday present from my beautiful wife! I will follow this up with pictures.

According to Patek's instructions the 60m rating is due to the two pushers for the date and the moon phase settings. It still has a screw down crown. Since this is on leather I would not ever use it in water!
