    Default 5036/1R Question

I have a Patek Philippe Annual Calender 5036/1R. It's 36 mm rose gold with bracelet.

I spoke with the Henri Stern Watch Agency's parts department about swapping my rose gold bracelet with an alligator strap. They said this watch cannot be fitted with an alligator strap, or any leather strap.

Does anyone know if this watch can be fitted with a leather strap? I figured I would ask just in case the Henri Stern Watch Agency is answering with the company line, and that I can swap the bracelet (myself) even though they prefer one does not.

    Thanks for any help.

Hello beden1 and welcome to our forum !

What you hear is 'the official answer'. This CAN be done for sure.
I did it for my friend's 5146/1A - it took my watchmaker 5 minutes.
All you need is 'any strap with a correct width that has either a tang or deployant.
(I had my own pictures of the 5146/1A somewhere, but cannot find them. Once I do, I will post them here).

In a meanwhile, here are some pics of 5036. I believe they are by Miles in UK, but I am not 100% sure so I cannot give a proper credit. Needless to say - it CAN be done !

    You have two options:
    1) go with an aftermarket or custom made alligator strap.
    2) Just call in order the strap from Patek for 5035 (I believe it has the same case dimensions with 19mm lugs)

Hope you will have some good results. Looking forward to see some 'before & after' pictures

Thank you for the detailed and very helpful response. I thought this might be the case, but I didn't want to take a chance without first asking.

I love the quality of the alligator strap that came with my Girard-Perregaux, and am curious as to how you like the ones from Patek?

I think that quality of Patek alligator strap is superb. They select only top quality hides with
larger scales and pattern that continues across both straps. All that I've had are top notch.
