better watch out, some (see my old posts & you'll know who "some" are) of the people in this particular forum are elitists. If you even question or compare the brand to another, they will try and degrade you. Just remember any posts in the Patek area, keep with the "Patek is the best in the world, and nothing could ever compare" mentality, and you'll be just fine.

Funny! I guess when you post a thread about Invicta vs. Patek you get what you deserve!
Can you help me fix my watch?..Where does this: go inside this?: I guess that's what I get for buying it on eBay!!!

I do not see anything elitist here... I think the Invicta forum has 2100 posts ever few months.

Quite honestly, this couldn't be further from the truth. A key, founding principle of this site is "people first, watches second." We don't "degrade" ANYONE based on their taste in watches....with the possible exception of those who post indicating an affinity for ilegal counterfeit watches. Watchfan1 can have just as much appreciation for a $300.00 Seiko with a completely unfinished movement, a $1000.00 Ball watch with a relatively pedestrian ETA 2824 movement, and a $100,000.00 Patek. Most of us here feel the exact same way.

And, Mr. E.M., don't forget the one where our beloved Invictaguy turned his back on his namesake brand and declared his loyalty to Omega, only to regret his decision in the same thread:

    Invictaguy's been promoted...

and then recently returned to Invicta prodigal son status with this post:

Invictaguy: we love you, man! You are without a doubt my all time favorite reoccurring troll! I did like the time you elected yourself president of the Original Invicta Forum....even though we had to trash your announcement. Must have been something to do with a rigged election.

HERE is post I made a long time ago
.....I am not sure if it will give you answer
about 'the hype', but another perspective nevertheless. And yes...it boiled down for me
    also 'touching one' first ;)
