Shock... Horror... Discount!!!

A friend recently picked up a PP. I won't say which reference in case he decides to join up and share with everyone.

But what I won't keep mum about is the fact that it's a sought after model, with decent if not impressive waiting lists... and he got it for waaaay under MSRP... for PP standards anyway.

I doubt that......as majority of ADs still do not discount "sought after models, with decent if not impressive waiting lists".


For now.....I'd call it anomaly or more-less the exception that proves the rule....we will see what future brings.
.....of course unless you are a good and long standing customer....then its nothing unusual ;)

I don't mean too come off as a jerk but I was wondering how much of a discount did your
friend get. and how does your friend know the watch he bought was'nt a fake. just wondering.

Kevin, it is presumed that if someone is talking about a 'waiting lists' we are talking
only about "authorized PP dealers".....and as such buying a fake Patek is out of question.

Oh yea, I'm in SE Asia, so watches here must be fakes. Yeeeeshh. Thanks Milos, for clearing that up for me.

I checked with a couple of other ADs this morning and they have pieces sitting in the safe, just delivered, and from one manager that I know well, they are working down the list. People are just not spending now. He asked me to come in to take a look if I liked but honestly, I'm really enjoying my collection right now (wore my 5165 last night, and am sporting my 5296G now) and have just committed to a series to custom built fishing rods.... so... let's see how the market reacts.

Since we don't know which model your friend got for well below MSRP, it is hard to comment. I have noticed that 5711 appear to become much easier to get hold of (particularly maybe J?) and I wouldn't be surprised to see 5-10 % discount on these.

If you know of any 5070P at 20 % discount, send me a hint please.

It's really good news for him and I'm glad. Hope he joins up soon!
