I don't know why some say Invicta copies other watches.
The submariner doesn't count. It's a popular look and public domain at this point, and many other companies have similar looking divers. Oris TT1, Omega, innumerable Seikos. And what is the difference between a copy and an homage?

Well there are those that for what ever reason seem to enjoy knocking Invicta even though as you mentioned there are many other companies that copy the Sub design. This is something that has been going on for what feels like forever. Me saying this has NOTHING to do with me having insecurities about myself or as it was termed pushing myself down the totem pole because of my perception of myself. I also never felt as though others were putting ME down but rather the watch brand I have chosen to collect. No problems here with self esteem issues but thanks for your concerns.
For those that are uneducated about the Invicta line of watches, they do have many of tons of their own unique designs that are very well made with great movements.

I agree. Invicta certainly has undisputed design that are all their own. Yes there are "Hommages" as well but to Invicta's credit they have many original Invicta designs.
I collect watches.... It's my thing... it's what I do.

at the beginning invicta concentrated on copying all the models by Rolex, which i think was right, cuz they were copying the best. the Daytona as the Speedway, and ProDivers as the Submariner and YachtMaster among others.

but the invicta of today is very different, they have a lot of new very original designs and are letting the homage culture behind, this is good.

The difference between a copy and an homage is subjective. Is an Omega dive watch a copy of a Rolex dive watch? Is it an homage? Or are they both dive watches as is the Invicta? Did Rolex copy Blanc Pain? Or did Rolex make a popular dive watch after Blanc Pain made theirs? It's a popular style and a lot of manufacturers produce it. Invicta (the company headquartered in Florida) is a much newer company than many of the Swiss watch manufacturers. As a result, Invicta produces several styles of watches that were being produced years ago. Some are more traditional, like the divers. Some they add their own personality, like the Speedways. Some are more innovative, such as the Lupahs.

    Exactly.

A LOT of companies make them, too many, IMHO! If I never saw a Submariner or Yachtmaster again (Rolex or homage), I wouldn't mind.

Take a look at the Insane Klone Posse in the General Forum.
You will find many homages - and many Invictas!
But Invicta does have some unique designs: lupah, SAN and Sapphire Ghost, though the Corum Golden Bridge may have inspired it.

I feel the same way you do. I have been saying this for years and will continue to say this. There is only so many ways a sub watch can be made before it starts to resemble another watch. So in reality, all subs will looks similar to some extent.
