    Default ball anti magnetic

    i have a question.

does all ball engineer series (II, master II, hydrocarbon) have those 'special case design with corrosion resistant ferrite SS...' or is it only exclusive to the hydrocarbon models since it is the only model with anti magnetic properties of up to 12K something.

seeing as i am looking to buy a MEII diver, i am wondering if this model has that attribute. if it does not then other than those lumes, what would separate such watches from other swiss automatics of similar calibers?

    thanks!

    uberman88,
I believe the EMII Diver has the same anti-magnetic qualities as the Hydrocarbon series. The EMII Diverwas the first Ball Watch I purchased. The tritium tubes first attracted me. Then the 300 meter W R rating, anti-magnetic rating, great shock resistance, and extreme cold and heat tolerance sealed the deal for me. Those qualities plus Ball's reputation for customer service exellence.
It has been a while since I read all the info on Welcome to BALL Watch, so I will need to go back and review. I suggest you might find all the answers you seek there, as well.

    best wishes,
    Jeff

    thanks!

i was really wondering about that anti magnetic issue. logically, it the EMII diver does not have it, i could opt for a more affordable brand ( maybe an oris again though) since the only difference would be the lume and i guess i can live without those tritum tubes.

Once you go tritium you'll never go back...

i have another questions. just curiosity maybe.

most ball watches are anti- magnetic up to 4,800 a/m with the hydorcarbon models up to 12,000 a/m.

aren't most respectable mechanical watches anti magnetic up to 4,800 a/m as per some ISO specifiaction? if that is the case, what is the deal about ball watch co claiming their watches (divers for example) to be anti magnetic if it is only at par with let's say oris with regards to its anti magnetic ability? from the oris website, it says that all the watches (although without a soft iron core) are anti magnetic as per some ISO standard (which is 4,800 a/m). with that, i am guessing most other mechanical watch brands are also under this ISO standard.

any thoughts? just curious on why they need to stress something that is seemingly so standard in the mechanical watch market. or either do they have other advantages (except the hydrocarbon models) over other non anti-magnetic designated watches.

for comparison (although at very different price points), the IWC ingeniur is anti magnetic up to 80,000 a/m. and the rolex milagauss is well i guess higher than that. these two watch companies clearly stressed anti-magnetic properties as part of their particular watch models(s).

    thanks thanks!
