Default Speedy Pro Vs. Speedy Date

    Hi all..

Can anyone tell me if the bracelet on the 3573.50 is different than the Speedy Date? they look the same on the website but I am extremely picky on the bracelet.. I really like the brushed steel look that is squared off.. Exactly like the Pro.. BUT I really need the date on my watch... I'm clueless without it.

If it's not too much trouble.. is there any inside scoop on the Speedy Date?? i.e. not valued as much or hard to find.. etc...

Thanks again, you guys have been great with feedback and help!!

    well Mr AndrewB,

I don't know for sure, so I'm sure Mr Houston can tell you the exact differences...
I think they are the same basic design but the "date" model being slightly smaller the bracelet will be slightly smaller, but it looks a bit more curved than the "Pro".. I'm sure it's as comfortable as the 20mm bracelet, it's an Omega

Got a cell phone? If so, you don't need a watch with the date function

Why would you want to ruin this face with a date

That is exactly why I have decided not to buy the speedy moonphase when I buy my speedy. The original is to clean and classic.

    Hi Andrew,

I cannot answer your question about the differences in bracelets but I'm sure we must have at least one member with the two types at their disposal to make a comparison.

As far as your second point: The Speedy Date (3210.50) isn't as revered as the original Moon Watch. This is simply down to the association with NASA and the kudos that demands. However, in my opinion the date version is slightly more aesthetically appealing.

So, if you are not bothered about the NASA association and the slightly smaller size (2mm less diameter) I would go for the date watch. I'm sure the differences in the bracelet are minimal.

It's similar in general outward appearance but may also be more of the newer ergonomic type with contoured ends. Sizes vary as Mr Terry Diver suggested. The 1998 bracelet that is on the Speedy Pro fits a lug size of 20mm. The lug size of the Date is 19mm and clasp is 16mm and if I'm correct is not a foldover clasp but of the safety clasp design.

Before you think a date complication is a non-negotiable area, do spend a little time assessing your needs and wants first would be my 2c suggestion Andrew. The last thing you'd want is to take the watch home and reflect on your purchase the following morning wishing you had bought the Pro instead.

    Like I said, my 2c.

    Be well now
