Saw it in person at the local jewelery store...I'd go black with orange numbers.

It was this one that got me lusting after the PO:

But I do wonder if the orange bezel will be a bit much after a while. A nice compromise would be this one:

and with the bracelet it still looks good

But all that being said, the PO that I will be getting in a few months will be this one:

Default I went with black bezel & orange numbers

Why? Weeeeell it was a process of elimination.

I see-sawed between the orange bezel and black bezel and to me, the black bezel was more understated. While it's visually arresting, I think the orange bezel might get a bit old after a while, whereas the black bezel and orange numbers would stand the test of time pretty well.

Of course, other people have different priorities. I like understated but noticeable to those in the know...

    AR-Ballistic,
Will you ever dive with this watch. I ask because color matters under water. Orange is one of the last colors to fade as divers go deeper and deeper in to the ocean. Light is filtered out by water based on wave-length. I am certainly not a physicist, but this is why water appears blue. Interestingly, red turns brown early as divers descend but orange can be seen well pretty deep.
All that said, I love the orange bezel and numbers. I would plan on diving with a PO at every opportunity, and really depend on visibility of my dive watches.
Personally, I love the orange watch. I know it doesn't work well as a dress watch, but I don't dress up enough for that to be a problem. All of my watches are sport watches and not appropriate for dressy occasions. I do have one dressier vintage watch, a manual Gruen, but it is too small for my aging eyes to read without reading glasses and not water resistant, so I rarely wear it.
Bottom line.... It doesn't matter what any of us think. Get what works for you.

    best wishes,
    Jeff

I like the orange/orange on a steel bracelet. I plan on getting one soon. I will pick up an extra black bezel. If the orange/orange is too much, I can tone down the look with the black bezel. The watch will be a keeper to me.
