Default I'm about to buy my first expensive watch!

I was flicking through some magazine and seen the omega seamaster PO advertised instantly falling in love with its beauty, it's taken me 10 weeks of effect to save £2000 to buy this fine watch, but now I have the money I'm thinking seriously I should buy an even better omega costing twice the price and taking another 10 weeks to save, perhaps the Broad Arrow or 18k Aqua Terra? This is the first expensive watch costing over £350 I have brought and maybe the last so I don't want to go for second fiddle, I've got the itch to buy the PO tomorrow but really like the Broad Arrow,

Thing is I have to be totally modest if my parents ask how much I spent on a watch, they will just call me irresponsible again so the 18k Aqua Terra might be out the question for now but. Is 4k to much for a first watch?

Should I save and hold back the itch or buy the PO? decisions decisions!

Save the money by buying an Omega preowned watch at first. It will help you understand the value of an Omega and help you search for the new one in the future.

Omega list prices are rumoured to increase 4-8% at the end of Feb, now would be a good time to buy. I also like the broad arrow but not the price where as I LOVE my po.

I wouldn't wait another ten weeks. I have a hard time waiting ten minutes. The "used" route is a good way to save money. Pre-owned Omegas go for 50% less than MSRP. You could do that and save the extra money toward the Broad Arrow. Also, you can tell your parents how much you paid for the PO and they won't think it's a small fortune. Good luck with your decision.

hi and welcome, i was in the same boat as you, i still live with my parents and if there less knowledgeable (spelling???) about watch prices you may get away with claiming it was a couple of hundred like i did with all my expensive watches. As for the PO vs BA? go with what you really want. u wont be dissapointed with a PO and if thats what you fell in love with get it, if you get the broad arrow you may regret it. another problem you may face is one is never enough. after you get your first quality watch you want another.:P

Great to see your concern for your parents. Go the pre owned way I would say

Well IF and I say IF he still lives at home and if they are paying his way through college or helping him out financially in other ways and he is splurging on an expensive watch instead of contributing to the goals at hand or the household than yeah I can see where its their business.

Whatever you decide upon...tell your parents it was between that and this...

and you saved $2,700,000 - (cost of that).

What a frugal son they have.
If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep the streets even as Michelangelo painted or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, 'Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.' Martin Luther King
