yeah nice story enjoyed reading that, got some pics m8
heheh thats funny story, i still live at home (im only 21) and have quite a large watch collection, about a month ago my dad came home with a longines presence and my mum got a bit angry, my dad was like i found this at a pawn shop for $150, which is good for a second hander, and as my dad was showing it off i was wearing my longines heritage conquest and he noticed the logo. He was like where did u get that from, i used the good old ive had this for ages! (like 8 months :P). lucky my dad didnt know how much there really worth!, i dont think they would like the idea of blowing 1800 on a watch yet alone the 4K i put out for my new Bond Coaxil SMP.:P
I guess I'm lucky, I don't seek permission to buy a watch and, when I do she doesn't care but a new purse seems to show up soon after.
My only hope is that when I die she doesn't sell them all for what I told her I paid for them!![]()
you had better start using the old "remember what i paid for this? i was looking on some forums the other day and this thing as worth $x now! what a great investment!"
she'll love that you got such a good deal. you don't even have to do it for all of them. just a couple will make sure that she knows to check how much they've "appreciated!"
lol!
I guess that's the advantage of being unmarried, no one to say no when I buy watches, guns, car parts, etc.In fact I think a seamaster might be my next purchase, it is at least in the running.
Great stories guys... and all quite familiarThe mistake I made was purchasing my wife a nice watch and now she notices whats on everyones wrist including mine.
Hah, aint that the truth!! My wife read a letter in a magazine about a woman who thought her husband was having an online affair so she snooped on his laptop and found he was a fountain pen fan and was spending time on pen forums. She dines out on that and me spending time on watch sites!!

i am planning my wedding right now, (well actually she is) so now my future wife is peny-pinching on everything, to get her dream wedding, so we have to cut back, but she made me a deal, i leave her alone with the plans of the wedding and she leaves me alone with my watch collection, and she knows that this year i wanted to add a Speedmaster or Planet Ocean, so I'm getting an Omega as a wedding gift, so I tested the waters last week and added a Tissot to my collection and she said "cool watch" so i guess i'm in the clear.........btw the wedding planners are my sisters so i know they will not go overboard on expenses
