Default Omega olympic split second chrono watch

Have probably 1948 Olympics 70mm 20 jewel, 1/10 sec. resolution split sec.
timer watch 12.8 mil. serial maybe not commercially sold. Appreciate any info.
Know only originally made for 1932 Olympics by Lemania and 300 were recently
made in gold cases and polished parts @ $65,000. Balance running in photo.
Runs 2 days plus on winding. 2 second hands line up perfectly not visible. LIKE TO KNOW: AGE,QUANTITY, IF ONLY FOR oMEGA timed EVENTS USE, IF COLLECTOR INTEREST LEVEL ENOUGH TO BE VALUABLE?

Have you contacted Omega? Omega pocket watches don't seem to have much of a following on the forums. They are also probably in the Omega saga book but its kinda pricy. Best bet to email them with the particulars and see what they say.

    Good luck with your search.

I agree with Mike. I have contacted Omega about all of my vintage pieces and they have provided detailed information I thought would have been lost.

p.s. My timer says hi to yours!

Art, I was banned from WUS. So I cannot look into that. When you asked "How do i learn about a nonstandard watch from them?" were you referring to Omega's website?

    Default Omega watch info availability

I got some good info from Omega written Olympic games history recently, but
am interested in specifics about what I have. Perhaps a way to call or email a certain location or person?

Art, go to the omega website. www.omega.ch
Click on customer service, then contact us. An email submission page will come up. Type in a brief email regarding the information you are looking for with the caliber #, serial number, description of the watch, etc. Submit it to the customer service department. Then wait. If you dont hear from anyone within a couple weeks, email them again.

Default 1932 Omega Special for Olympics Chronowatch

Original registration here Nov. 16, 09 was to get info about this. In January was referred by Fabio Sansoti at Olympic Boutique, Vancouver to Biel museum Omega records. He got for me a photo of their number 262 (mine is 169) and probable use at 1952 Helsinki Olympics. No knowledge of commercial sales of this 1932 Lemania model or total quantity but maybe 300. So much remains a mystery about it and always will. However, I now think it is one of the finest Omega collectible pocket watches. When first used at 1932 Olympics it was the first 1/10 second resolution timing for them.
