Default Convince me on a Seamaster please!

I am working on acquiring an Omega Seamaster (Bond Style). Two weekes ago I decided I couldn't deal with mechanical watches, now in about a week I am going to buy a good one. I was thinking Omega, Breitling, or Sinn. I find Sinn interesting but I have a line on the above mentioned Seamaster. One reason I'm leaning Omega is the chronometer certification. I just want it! So if yall don't mind to help me decide, pics welcome, I will of course post pics of mine. If, and when I buy it. I am slighty put off by its smaller 38mm size, any owners of this size that can put me at ease? I am very serious, I just don't think several Seikos will scratch this itch, not matter how much I try. Thanks all!

You can find a mid-size and full size Seamaster in quartz. Cheaper than an auto, too.
    Problem solved!
(Great watches, BTW. I have an auto Bond and a quartz Midsize 120M Seamaster).

Actually I want the Automatic. I got about $1500 to spend. I will have to go with a pre-loved but that's ok.

    :)

    Mike,

the full size auto is 41mm, it's a great watch. I have the 2254 at the top of the Omega forum, it has a different bracelet and the dials not blue but its a 300m rated auto Seamaster nonetheless. the 2254 is my favorite diver, it's the most comfortable in all ways. you can get one of those new for just a little more than your budget (maybe $75 more) but thats only if black is cool or if blue was what you had you're heart set on.

good luck, Omega gets my money everytime.

as diver88, i recommend the 2254 over the Bond, but in the end, its your choice of course.

at 41mm it looks perfect on almost every wrist.

    the lume is incomparable

and of course, the black color is so classic and so elegant.

in the end, its your choice, and Omega its a great brand, you wont be disappointed.

How's this for convincing? Every one of these Seamaster series watches keep better time than my Rolex.

    2007 Seamaster Aqua Terra:

    1959 Seamaster:

Okay, how's this for more? I'm not planning on buying any new watches this year EXCEPT for a black dial Seamaster with an 1120 calibre inside it. Maybe a 2230.50 or 2236.50 non-America's Cup, or a GMT, but I have not bought a black dialed watch because I want an Omega to fill that void. Now if I stumble across a Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Classique for $1700 that would be a no brainer, but barring a miracle I have no plans to purchase any other watch over a grand until next spring (roof woes, but that's another story - I've had chance to buy some INCREDIBLE watches for great prices but had to pass because of this). A Seamaster with the 1120 is a staple that any WIS of any level can appreciate.

Which part? The "I'm not planning on buying any new watches this year" or that I want a Seamaster with an 1120 in it? If you're referring to the first part, I did say NEW watches - vintage are not NEW so legally I'm not lying. :D
