Default Finally part of the Lum Tec clan...new V1

Just out of the box at work (I smartly receive my watches at work, away from the prying eyes of my wifes and sapphire-shattering hands of my kids).
The finish on this baby is, as has been mentioned, fantastic.
I'm switching to the rubber strap once I get home though. For some reason, the leather band with this watch just doesn't strike me. (It is a nice band that I'm sure I'll find use for :-D)

I hope to find a good strapmaker that could make a B&R style strap for my V1 Red and V6.

What do you mean by "B&R style"??
Just the "cut-outs" and a wide strap that comes up to the outside edges of the lugs ?
If yes, there were already several shown here before. I think that most of custom strap makers know how to do it.

^ I think the term you guys are looking for is "notched" (and probably "tapered" as well for the V-series). Tell any experienced strapmaker that you want a notched and tapered strap and they'll know what you're talking about.

You'll likely still have to send your watch to the strapmaker if you want a well-fit custom strap and the strapmaker has no prior experience with, and thus no template for, the V-series watches.

    Exactly right about the template.

If a strap-builder hasn't done notched straps for the V1, he'll need the actual watch to make the first strap. After that first one, he'll be on cruise control.

I can tell you, from personal experience, however, that it ALWAYS makes the job easier -- and the result much better -- to be doing the final strap fitting with the watch, itself, on the bench. Having a plastic template to cut from (I now have a couple dozen) just isn't the same as having the ability to fit the strap to the watch's case.

I strongly recommend that anybody contemplating the purchase of an "exotic" leather strap ('gator, emu, ostrich, snake, 'ray, shark, etc) contact his strap builder and send him (INSURED!) the watch he's making the strap for. You'll get MUCH better results.
