    yea,
Most Bose products seem overpriced. On the other hand, the Lum Tec was worth every penny... And so far, so have the Sonys...

Bose products "consumer electronics" products are very good, but generally overpriced for what they are. You can kind of tell this because their prices and products don't change much over time. But the brand is strong enough that they can get away with it.

When I wanted to get some noise-canceling headphones, I ended up with some Panasonics that were about as good as the Bose (maybe a little less good) for under $100.

When it comes to listening to music, I use Shure 530 ear buds.

Yes, they cost quite a bit but the sound out of the ’10 IPod Classic without an earphone preamp is just amazing.

Each ear bud has three drivers: two woofers and one tweeter.

The moldable like foam that fits into the ear canal blocks out quite a bit of ambient noise too.

Those are supposed to be fantastic, if not a bit expensive..but the build quality alone makes them worth the premium.

Nice steve. Bet the iPod sounds amazing.
I got my phones mostly for the plane since I travel a lotfor work. And I was sick of losing the rubber pieces from my ear buds.
