Hi Bob,

I've always been told that the break in period is to let the oils disperse properly in a watch. If the watch is left sitting in a warehouse, everything just kind of collects in one spot. I honestly don't know how true that is, but the automatics I have owned have all worked out that way.

I like the Grand Diver look and an considering buying the blue faced version of your watch. I think the 3044 is black, yes? The Seiko movement has a repuation of being EXTREMELY reliable.
