Stan: Can I ask for your help on something?

I'm looking at ebay item #320680568470, a trench watch with the Everlite brand name, and Everlite AND Langendorf signed movement w/15 jewels. Price is $175 on the "Buy it now" price. The inside caseback is marked Illinois Case Watch Co. , Elgin, and Sterling, although there is no sterling or coin silver mark. The watch appears to be in good condition, but it has a personal name engraved on the outside caseback. Seller dates it at @1918.

The seller makes no claim either way about running condition, and I have asked the question, still waiting for an answer.

Cary Hurt says this is one of the brands of the Ditisheim brothers, which I think would be a good thing, but it seems to me to be a pretty low price considering the condition (appearance) of the watch. Is it because of the personal engraving? Does that diminish the value of the piece (assuming it's in decent repair)?

    Regards,
    Roger Corby
