Mainspring Barrel for a Longines 503

I guess I just don't know where to look. I need a mainspring barrel for a Longines 503. The one I have is missing teeth, and I would really like to get this watch running. Can anyone out there help me find one?

Hi John. The 503 was based on a Record caliber 1955 or 1958 so the part should be interchangeable. I think the barrel from an AS 1753 (???) might be the same also. You could try searching eBay for watch parts or movements - maybe you'll score a whole movement for spare parts.

Yep, I have been looking on eBay now for 8-months. I can find movements at about $200 but no parts. I don't think I want to sink $200 plus the cost of service into the watch. It may be time just toss this one in the junk drawer, or put it on eBay for someone else to mess with.
