    Default Vintage Longines, Infos needed

    Hello Watch friends,

I bought a couple of month ago a Vintage Longines Watch and I know already based on an Longines catalogue that the caliber is from the early years of 1900.

I wonder if you know more about this watch.

Thank you very much for your answers.

    Best regards,
    Peter

Ps: pics and further technical details below...

Default The movement dates from approximately 1909...

The rest of the watch? It looks like a conversion from a ladies' pocketwatch, likely done within the last few years. A lot of these are coming out of Eastern Europe.

The funny thing is, when men began wearing wristwatches in the 1920's, many manufacturers simply modified existing ladies' pocketwatch inventory and marketed them to men.

There is nothing new under the sun,

Definitely an antique ladies "o" size pocket watch movement and a newly made case and dial.

The dial is the giveaway. It looks much newer than the hands. It is hard for me to make out much detail about the case, but I do know that pocket watch conversions are being done by some now, so it wouldn't surprise me.

I do like the looks of the watch. It does have a nice vintage look to it.

Indeed, it would not be an exaggeration to describe the history of the computer industry for the past decade as a massive effort to keep up with Apple.
