    Default Black Monster

Hi All. I'm almost certain that my next purchase is going to be a Seiko Black Monster, and I'm trying to decide how to go about buying it. There's not a store near me that carries it, so I think I'm stuck buying online. Of everywhere I've looked, the best deal I can find - $164.12 with a $10 coupon.

Is this a horrible idea? I've never used them before, and have heard that they're no substitute for a B&M, authorized dealer, but it seems like that's not even an option for me.

Also, an aside question - what is the difference in model #s on this watch? This one says its the SKX779 , but I've seen several other model #s associated with the Black Monster. Does it have to do with the band (I'm pretty set on the steel bracelet)?

Sorry, I had to remove the refrence to that site since they aren't a sponsor of WTF. That is a great price. I'll mention that one of our sponsors is an Auth Seiko Dealer and they will beat any advertised price on the same watch. Worth checking into, might even get it cheaper from them

Well, they are on back order at Discount Watch Store.... But here was the link anyway...

    Hey Kaka,
It's too bad they are out of stock, I have had really good experiences with discount watch and would recomend them.

Well, they might not be! On GoDuke's advice, I emailed their customer service and gave them the quoted price of the other place. They emailed me back, personally, and said they'd not only match, but beat the price. He advised that they had only one left in stock before it would go to backorder, and gave me a link to a page that reflected the quantity of "1" item in stock. I also got a personalized discount code, free 2 day shipping, and immediate confirmation. I can't believe how amazing the customer service was! Thanks for the good recommendation, gang.

Final price - $157.56. I'll follow back up once it arrives

Yeah, something happened. Even on the one I ordered, they show it with a rubber strap. Maybe it was just a one day deal or something. I'm glad I got it though!

Default Congrats on the choice!...For just a couple bucks extra compared to other sellers

your doing biz with some good people, and those people help sponser the forum.

It's always wise to buy the seller, rather than the sale price!

You got a very good buy for that price from a very reputable seller, so many Congrats...

    Jim
