So I dug up my Dad's old Seiko that he gave me and snapped some pics for fun:
Here's what I know about it:
-My Mom bought it as a wedding present in July 1971
-Front says:
SEIKO
automatic
DX
17 Jewels
At the bottom of the dial, barely readable, it says
JAPAN 6106-6019P (last letter could possibly be R)
-Caseback says:
SEIKO
6106-6007
074106
-Strap says:
Hong Kong
100% stainless steel
Kreisler
-When I shake it it runs fine, and although the bracelet is a little too small which keeps me from wearing it for a whole day, it has been keeping time for the past few minutes I've had it out. This is somewhat impressive, as I seriously doubt that it has been serviced or opened for the past 40 years.
I'm interested to see if anyone knows anything about it or how much it may be worth (not that I would sell it). Also as a side note, how much would it cost to give it a service? I think at some point I will be obliged to give it a tune up, as it is a family heirloom.
Thanks for looking!
