    Mine is a compass rose... I appreciate all things nautical - it was part of my education...

    Accurate time keeping was the critical factor in figuring out longitude for early navigators.

    Don't know if I'll change my avatar but if and when I do, it'll probably reference something else nautical...
    The Sea is Selective, slow at Recognition of Effort and Aptitude, but fast in Sinking the unfit.
