    Default What would you upgrade to?

    i dont have a lot of money, so much like many of us here i cant get ALL the watches that i'd like... but with my limited funds ive been lucky enough to acquire a few that I really enjoy. That said, i feel almost like they are holding a "spot" for a higher priced watch to (hopefully) someday take its place.

    here's what i would upgrade:

    tag Formula 1 --------> TAG Heuer CV2014.FT6014 Carrera Automatic Chronograph Watch

    Jacques Lemans GU199B Tempora ------->Hamilton H77616533 Khaki X Chronograph Watch

    Tissot PRC200---> Breitling Navitimer 01

    Invicta 8928OB Pro Diver---->Rolex Submariner Blue Index Dial Oyster 116613BLSO

    Wenger Swiss Army 70487--->my daily work watch (beater) so i wouldnt upgrade it

    Marina Militare 44mm PVD---->Panerai Luminor 1950 ceramic black

    Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 2503.33.00-->i'd also leave this one alone. i LOVE this watch

    How about you, what you replace in your collection with?

    You have some very nice watches there a few I'd like to have.

    I've run into a wall on my desires, althought not financially a problem, I just don't seem to be too interested in buying or spending the money on anything right now.

    I've been knocking around the urge to getting a panerai...but really can't bring myself to spending the money; I want one but i don't wear what I've got enough and I don't particulary want to sell off anything I still have.

    So I guess if I did "upgrade" it would be my Hammy or Longines chronos for a Panerai...or a Breilting chrono...but wait; I forgot I swore off chronos until I get some bifocals...

    Flipping for the purpose of upgrading you say? Hmmmm, sounds like an interesting concept that I should look into.

    There were so many moves in 2011 for me that I have to take stock of where my collection stands before I make any more upgrades. I am selling my Corum since the VC is similar in color and style and monopolizing all the wrist time. I'm also moving a few duplicate calibers from the Omega collection to buy calibers I don't own yet.
    Can you help me fix my watch?..Where does this: go inside this?: I guess that's what I get for buying it on eBay!!!

    OK, I'll play!!

    Baume & Mercier Classima Executives XL Chrono --> IWC Portuguese Auto

    Perrelet A1002 --> Zenith Chronomaster Grande Date El Primero 03.0240.4010/01.C495

    Seiko SNM031 White Samurai --> Omega Great White GMT Seamaster 2538.20

    I have a few more on my wish list, but none with so obvious an upgrade path.

    Indeed, it would not be an exaggeration to describe the history of the computer industry for the past decade as a massive effort to keep up with Apple.

    If I lose a few more auctions I may be able to upgrade my Invicta ProDiver to a Marathon GSAR, C. Ward C60 Trident or a Deep Blue tritium Daynight.

    here's what i would upgrade:

    tag Formula 1 --------> TAG Heuer CV2014.FT6014 Carrera Automatic Chronograph Watch

    Got the Carrera myself very nice, preceded by a Aqua Racer - now with Son No1. Bracelet on Carrera perhaps a little thin?

    Tissot PRC200---> Breitling Navitimer 01

    Got the Navitimer as well and preceded by a Colt Chrono (still owned, but going to Son No 3) - both very nice watches and bracelet on Navitimer is superb.

    Invicta 8928OB Pro Diver---->Rolex Submariner Blue Index Dial Oyster 116613BLSO

    Had a Omega Seamaster (now with Son No3) and I have a Deepsea.

    I think I would get a Yacht Master and a Montbrilliant Datora if I were to add.

    That's the Pilot's bracelet, and I concur. I normally despise bracelets but that one is fantastic.

    I also always liked the bracelet on my Seamaster, not as shinny, but very comfortable.

    I do rather like your philosophical statements, so true - desire, aspiration, emotion, physical statement and expensive spring to mind, but ultimately pleasurable and nearly always rewarded with superlative standards of design, movement and finish.

    My upgrading is taking a little different path. I collect mostly Accutrons and am trying to make it a collection as opposed to an accumulation. There are a few models I still need and I intend to get them but right now I'm concentrating on moving up to solid gold watches. They are nice additions to the collection and the idea of them getting melted for the gold sickens me.

    The Carrera is probably more attainable to me than the Navitimer. But I guess you never know what the future holds
