Advice from a certain watch companies website
Well don't put it on the topside of the crystal then! Even used the word "Sensitive" to describe it!
Luckily I own two watches from this company without AR Coating! Ha!

Hey...nobody said the world of watchmaking was immune from idiots!
Don't worry folks. There are makers that put their A/R coatings on the underside of the crystal as well.
I guess many companies are caught up in marketing one upmanship - they ask their customers what's better than anti reflective coating on the inside of the crystal, then tell their customers anti reflective coating on both sides haha, for me one of my pet peeves is having a display back to see an ordinary movement - next they be offeing anti reflective coating on display casebacks too![]()
I am not a fan of AR coating, but I understand this is a personal preference. In the past, if the AR got scratched from the crystal it seemed to jump out more than normal.
I've removed the AR from the (outside) crystal on several watches.
I find it a royal pain in the ass.
I know!
We should put anti reflective
on
EVERYTHING

Indeed, it would not be an exaggeration to describe the history of the computer industry for the past decade as a massive effort to keep up with Apple.

One of the few trends in horology which I never found the use of.
