Well done. Thanks John.
Good review as always; but, I do not understand this statement:
With a list price of $965.00, and an MSRP price of $810.00
Why is the list price higher than MSRP?
The list is the price you may see this watch priced at in a store.
The MSRP is the suggested price we recommend that this watch be sold for.
If sold less than the MSRP, the dealer/store would be cutting into what would be considered the industry average profit margins normally achieved by a retailer.

Guess I'm confused here. So the list price is set by who? The individual stores that may stock & shelf them? If so, I'd also assume it's different from retailer to retailer? Also, I've never seem a store price on a 'normal' item be above what the manufacture sets MSRP at. After all, if the manufacture recommends a product sell for this price, why would I ever pay more than that?![]()

We set the list price. The retailer can add $1,000 to this price as far as I'm concerned. But, I doubt he will sell anything at that price.
The list is just an (somewhat) arbitrary figure above what the actual selling price should be.
We don't believe in the "pie in the sky" list prices you might find on some of the watch TV shows (List: $1,299, todays special this hour $299).
The list of a watch is similar to the MSRP of a car. You don't pay the MSRP of the price of a car, and you don't pay the list of the price of a watch, if you can bargain down a bit.

Ok Gerard...
So what I understand is the true "MSRP" (like your car dealer comparison) is the list price, and the discounted price you recommend dealers sell for is what you call the MSRP...
I got it now.. Thanks for the clarification...![]()
